ConceptEcomondo 2011
The principles of Industrial Ecology embrace:
- The life cycle of a product, process or service.
- Material flow analysis in processes.
- Industrial symbiosis to group activities together into technology parks.
- A political-operational approach to product certification and manufacturer responsibility.
- Experimental ecological design for future activities.
Industrial Ecology is the perfect partner to the Green Economy and the many projects associated to it, focusing on materials and energy, and benefiting from regional, national and international funding over the next three years .
The prime focus of the more applied aspects of the Seminars and Events will be changes in legislation in each of the various fields; these will later be discussed in an open forum of experts, businesses and professionals.
AIR: spotlight on regulations governing emissions from industrial plants, brought together to modify the IPPC Directive and extend the scope of the AIA.
RECLAIM EXPO' (RECLAMATION): a snapshot of reclamation techniques in Europe and Italy will be presented, also looking at developments in technology currently being made in this field thanks to a number of industrial research projects recently financed by the European Commission.
WASTE: areas in the spotlight include the reformulation of the Waste Management Hierarchy: prevention, national and regional programmes from now to 2013, by-product qualification criteria, 2020 recycling targets for plastic, paper, metal, glass, wood and inert building and demolition materials, energy efficiency and completion of the regulatory framework for SISTRI. The legislation forum will look at these issues in detail with representatives from national institutions and associations.
OROBLU (WATER): presenting a review of the current situation in Italy regarding technology and key process developments made in water and sludge treatment as well as management techniques to improve plant efficiency, and the development and dissemination of experimental testing, as well as key best practices in each area.
key words:
recycling in Europe - eco-efficiency - sustainability models - global ecodesign for various sections of the environment.
