By Italian Biomethane Platform and Ecomondo Technical Scientific Committee
The new Decree on biomethane subsidies aims to give a real boost to the development of the industry, focusing on a national priority action: the fulfilment of the 10% target of biofuels for use in transport by 2020. Biomethane, an advanced biofuel made with national biomasses and technologies, can play a key role in the Italian strategy to cope with climate change, resulting in an energy transition towards a sustainable and circular low carbon economy. The conference is intended to shed light on the contents of the new Decree, the potential of biomethane in Italy, the best practices and the major technological innovations available.
