Event
The composite materials market is expanding rapidly, driven by strategic sectors such as sustainable mobility and renewable energy.
However, the increase in production also brings an environmental challenge: waste management in terms of both industrial waste and end-of-life materials. There are various solutions for recycling composite materials, including co-processing in cement kilns, pyrolysis, and mechanical recycling. Although these solutions have reached the industrialization phase, in some cases they involve significant down-cycling of the recycled material and will not be sufficient to manage the quantities expected in the coming years. It is therefore urgent to develop innovative and efficient recycling solutions.
This workshop will review the most advanced regulatory and technological prospects for recycling composite materials, focusing on:
- Innovative processes for the recovery of fiberglass and carbon fiber composites
- Industrial applications of recycled materials
- Role and opportunities for the supply chain: from producers to recyclers
