Mr Andrea Bianchi is an Industrial Economist who has been working mostly in Public Administration and Representative Institutions. He was the General Managing Director of Industrial Policies at the Ministry of Economic Development from 2008 until 2013. Since 2013 he is the Director of the of Industrial Policies department of Confindustria (Confederation of Italian Industries) overseeing activities in domains such as industry, research and innovation, energy, environment, infrastructures and transportation. He is Confindustria’s Supervisor of the Industry 4.0 project and author of a variety of articles on Industrial Development. Mr Bianchi is also involved in didactic activities at the LUISS University and the National School of Administration (Scuola Nazionale dell’Amministrazione).
As an Economist, he began his career working on Industrial Policy Research and Studies and then undertook roles of great responsibility within the Public Administration. He was formerly the General Managing Director and then Chief of the Competitiveness Department of the Ministry of Economic Development . He created and developed the Industry 2015 program, a plan designed to relaunch the competitivity of the entire Industrial System. He is Chief Managing Director of the Ministry of Economic Development and is currently the Director of the Industrial Policies Department of Confindustria.
