BEACON CONFERENCE

The transition from the traditional economic system, based on the process “take, make, dispose”, to the Circular Economy paradigm, focused on decoupling growth from resources consumption, requires a long-term vision that could entail huge investments. For some firms, access to financial resources turns out challenging.  Quoting Ellen MacArthur, founder and chair of trustees of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, “Supporting new and evolving businesses to adopt circular economy models is key to accelerating the transition to a regenerative and restorative economy”.  Re-thinking of financial instruments, processes, and models is a crucial step for a Financial Institution that aims to foster the redesign of the industrial ecosystem and catch the opportunity of reconnection to the real economy provided by the Circular Economy paradigm itself. Redefine growth and development through the circular economy lenses is a key element to be discussed deeply in Ecomondo 2019.
