Organized by: Ecomondo Scientific Technical Committee & UNIRIMA, ASSORIMAP, ASSOFERMET
Assofermet, Assorimap and Unirima, the three national associations of recycling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastic and paper, each one representative of a specific and functional sector of material recovery and with the common goal: recognizing the centrality of recycling in Italian and European industrial and environmental policies. These strategic sectors in the development and promotion of a circular economy in the waste sector, having/ a total of about 4,000 plants and 45,000 employees throughout the national territory, although they are excellences of our Country, leaders in the production of EoW / SRM, they have to deal with a growing bureaucracy, often unclear regulations, failure to comply with the principles of competition, the need for constant innovation to be competitive and to face the increasingly complex challenges of the markets. In order to respond to the principles outlined by the Circular Economy and the Green New Deal, the field of the production of raw materials from waste treatment activities therefore needs adequate tools that relaunch the sector and, above all, that this important sector of the circular economy be placed at the center of national and European industrial policies.
