Organized by: Ecomondo Scientific and Technical Committee and National Agrifood Cluster CL.A.N.

The Italian agri-food industry never stopped its activity during the pandemic crisis, showing resilience, flexibility and a sense of responsibility. The sector has once again enhanced its countercyclical qualities, ensuring the availability of food, even in an extremely difficult context caused by overheating demand. Despite this, however, it must be said that the agrifood sector is also not crisis – free and has suffered large losses, mainly due to the closure of the HORECA channel. The need to face the critical issues related to the pandemic, to return to normality as quickly as possible, has highlighted the importance of a unified approach in dealing with the post-Covid restart by all the national stakeholders of the agrifood sector, which is the inspiring principle of the Cluster CL.A.N. itself.  The workshop will be an opportunity to illustrate the Position Paper written by CL.A.N. on the critical issues, needs and opportunities of the agrifood sector related to the pandemic and the measures taken by the agrifood businesses to face the crisis both on the internal side (production organization), and on the external one (logistics matters on food supply and delivery), with the involvement of companies from different supply chains. Finally, the event will be an opportunity to illustrate the Three-Years Action Plan submitted to the Ministry of University and Research, as well as the actions undertaken.
