CALL FOR PAPERS

The European Union has presented an overall action plan to implement the objectives of the Green Deal and aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. The reduction of the environmental impact is fixing for all the actors of the agrifood supply chain objectives and challenges to which it will be not easy to respond. These include the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the promotion of energy efficiency and innovative technologies with low CO2 emissions (the so-called decarbonisation). In addition, the Member States are also outlining national strategies that identify possible paths to reach a condition of "climate neutrality", in which residual greenhouse gas emissions will be offset by the absorption/capture of CO2 and by the possible use of forms of geological storage as well as CO2 reuse. The realization of these objectives cannot be separated from the support from the European and national authorities through financing and facilitating measures that can really support the necessary investments requested to the operators of the agrifood supply chain.
