Starting from a general overview of the Green New Deal, the Workshop aims to explore the resulting actions that affect many areas of the life of European citizens and companies operating in EU. Given the objective that the European Commission has set itself by adopting, in 2021, the action plan “Towards a Zero Pollution Ambition for air, water and soil – building a Healthier Planet for Healthier People” there are several factors at play. For example, although the essential role of chemicals for the well-being is recognized at the EU level, in the high standards of living and comfort of modern society, critical issues in manufacturing and use are also reported. So, even though the EU has already sophisticated laws on chemicals, it intends to manage them with further provisions that will need to be carefully evaluated both for the benefits they should bring but also for the impacts they could also have on businesses.
The event will show the different implications of the many activities that are being studied at the EU.
