The agrifood supply chain is more and more committed to the challenge for improved sustainable productions. European Commission is going to publish the legislative Framework for Sustainable Food Systems (FSFS) which will release a legislative measure aimed at ensuring a better harmonisation amongst the different policies carried out by Member States as well as cleared information to the consumers by means of a food labelling framework. This will include wide range of impacts from nutritional, enivironmental, socio-economic and animal welfare aspects. Thus, the event will be an important occasion to promote a discussion between the most important players such as European institutions, national bodies, food supply chain and academia representatives’. In order to meet the challenges posed by the future regulatory framework it will be fundamental to understand which methodologies and evaluations could represent and protect at the best possible the main features of the italian agrifood system as well as the Mediterranean Diet food products.
