The European Green Deal aims to transform the EU into a just and prosperous, resource-efficient and competitive society, which from 2050 will no longer generate net greenhouse gas emissions, where the environment and the health of European citizens are protected and where economic growth is achieved through the more efficient and sustainable use of natural resources. The joint EU strategy also aims to protect, conserve and enhance natural capital and protect the health and well-being of citizens from environmental risks and their consequences (from: Commission Communication COM/2019/640 final). What is the role of the environmental assessment tools and of the DNSH, what are the tasks of all the subjects involved, institutions, proponents, citizens to achieve the environmental objectives identified by the Paris Agreement.
