Vice President of the Working Group on Healthcare Waste of ISWA International

Beatrice Giordani is Vice President of the Working Group on Healthcare Waste of ISWA International. She is Head of the International Relations Office of Newster System Srl. Since 1996 Newster, an Italian based  SME, manufactures technologies for the treatment of solid and liquid healthcare waste. She was raised in the United States and after returning to Italy, she continued her studies in Business Administration. During her career, she attended training courses on different topics, including internationalization strategies, holding  various positions of responsibility during her experience in Newster. She managed corporate participation in tenders financed by international banks such as the World Bank, disseminating information between agencies and international bodies, and information related to Newster and its technologies allowing them to be listed in publications,  issued by organizations such as UNEP (United Nations Environment Program), UNDP (United Nations Development Program) and WHO (World Health Organization). She coordinated the participation of Newster in tenders awarded by AICS (Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development) for sector projects in Niger and Mozambique. She collaborated closely with Newster R&D Department, in the presentation of a Horizon 2020 European project, with the involvement of Italian and European partners of high scientific level. The project is based on the recovery and use of plastic and other materials contained in pharmaceuticals and hospital waste. The aim is the recovery of the treated waste as secondary raw material, through the use of sustainable and innovative processes and technologies.
