ECOMONDO and KEY ENERGY represent a European appointment that anticipated the urgency and various aspects of the green economy and enables all the players to take part in the challenges and opportunities of the new era for sustainable global development, with benefits in terms of employment, saving and environmental protection. The new legislative package adopted by the European Parliament´s Environment Commission is also based on the principles of circular economy, while the announcement of the London Waste and Recycling Board, led by mayor Sadiq Khan, of its search for two specialists has not gone unnoticed: Circular Economy Project Officers.

Having reached the goal last year of its twentieth edition with 105,574 visitors (11,000 from abroad) and 1,200 companies - ECOMONDO will have at its disposal in 2017 an even larger number of square metres of expo space, thanks to work for the expansion of the expo centre.
The huge Rimini event, a key appointment for the development trends of the green economy in all its sectors , and able every year to offer opportunities of growth for the companies and all the players involved, will concentrate on the Countries of the Mediterranean basin, the involvement of which has already begun with a busy road show calendar. Brazil and China are also key markets.
On-stage the new project on Sustainable Transport and Mobility, with all the players of the industry chain and the aim of becoming a reference point regarding the issues in line with what has already been developed by Key Energy, H2R and Sustainable City. The last of these will adopt a new format to offer a vision of a city that changes its ´skin´, with the Urban Circular Economy as the key topic: mobility, transport and urban regeneration increasingly connected with highly technical solutions for a large-scale industrial approach.
Plus, the new space dedicated to hydrogeological instability and the prevention of climatic risks, an increasingly urgent issue, particularly in Italy.
Reconfirmed and strengthened the area on monitoring pollutants in the matrices ´Air, Water and Soil´.
Spotlight on the panorama of start-ups with I think circular, the project launched at ECOMONDO 2016, promoted by La Stampa Tuttogreen and Aquafil, one of the main players in Italy and in the world as far as synthetic fibres are concerned.
