The 17th edition of the Chengdu International Environmental Protection Expo - CDEPE ended on 1 April. In terms of scope, participation and involvement, it exceeded expectations and numbers for 2019!
Over 390 exhibitors from China, Italy, the US, Germany, Australia, Sweden and Japan attended the event, which occupied over 25,000 square metres of gross exhibition space.

The 18th edition will be held from 28-30 March 2024, also in Chengdu.

Various Italian companies and SMEs enthusiastically responded to the call by Ecomondo and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), attending with their technologies and innovations as part of the Punto Italia collective.
These included Air Clean, Compopack, Hydro Italia, Labio Test, Megasystem, Mold, Rina, Onsulting, Sebigas Renewable, Energy and Systea. The companies covered various fields of the circular economy: control of water pollution, prevention and mitigation of air pollution, environmental monitoring, solid waste treatment, energy saving and new energies, environmental services, green packaging and certification.

ECOMONDO CHINA: WHY ATTEND

Ecomondo's international project is an ideal vantage point from which to observe China's decarbonisation policies and investments, and offers exhibitors numerous opportunities for B2B and B2G meetings.

Ecomondo China - CDEPE is co-organised by Sichuan Environmental Protection Industry Association (SCEPI) and Europe China Environmental Exhibitions (ECEE) - a company of Italian Exhibition Group based in Chengdu. Since 2019, it has been partnered by Ecomondo to further its development at international level, creating a scientific committee that guides the choice of content and fosters matchmaking opportunities between companies, institutions and policy makers.

Why Chengdu?
China's south-western regions, and in particular the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, contribute around 40% of the country's total GDP and are set to play a key role in pursuing the road map towards the complete decarbonisation of Chinese production by 2030.
In addition, the market of China’s central regions offers interesting business, cooperation and investment opportunities for Italian small and medium-sized companies in a less competitive environment.
Chengdu will play a key role in the One Belt One Road project established by China’s central government and is expected to become the logistics centre of Southwest China.

By investing in Chengdu, investors gain access to Chinese trade channels in an area that has a strong demand for international knowledge and technology, avoiding the more crowded and competitive markets such as Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen or Guangzhou.
