In a landscape where sustainability is often reduced to a slogan, Presgo - formerly Convene ESG - chooses a practical approach. Born from Azeus Group’s thirty years of experience in corporate governance and with over a thousand B2B clients in more than a hundred countries, the new entity aims to become an ally for companies facing the challenges of ESG reporting. Through an advanced, modular platform powered by artificial intelligence, Presgo seeks to simplify the lives of sustainability managers by offering solutions that are reliable, easy to use, and accessible. On the occasion of Ecomondo, the company is strengthening its presence in Italy, today one of the most dynamic markets for the brand’s growth.
We talked about it with Laurent Lasserre, Chief Revenue Officer of Presgo Europe.

Presgo has recently undergone a rebranding process. What were the reasons behind this choice, and what does the new brand represent today?
<<We have launched the latest version of our platform: an evolution that integrates artificial intelligence on every layer and is far more modular than before. We felt the need for a new name that could reflect this transformation: a smarter platform, simple to use, and better equipped to meet companies’ ESG reporting needs. Combining “Prescient”, “ESG”, and “Go”, Presgo is a name that signals forward-thinking and action in the constantly evolving ESG landscape.>>

In an industry where the words “sustainability” and “circularity” are often overused, how do you differentiate yourselves?
<<It’s true, there’s a real risk today for sustainability to become a buzzword, losing its true meaning. We stand out on three key areas: first, we offer a technologically advanced product, among the best on the market; second, we’ve chosen a competitive pricing model that recognises the budget pressures many companies face; and third, we’ve ensured exceptional ease of use, allowing organisations to integrate Presgo quickly, without lengthy or costly implementations. Beyond that, we want to deliver a tangible return on investment, not only in terms of regulatory compliance, but also through better data quality, reduced costs, and stronger competitiveness thanks to our ESG experts who can guide and support clients with ad hoc consulting services>>.
What role does Italy play in your strategy, and how important is Ecomondo as an international platform?
<<We launched Presgo in Italy last year, and it has proven to be one of our most dynamic markets. Here we are growing faster than in other European countries, which is why we already have a local team based all across Italy. Ecomondo is the ideal venue for us: it brings together companies, innovators, regulators, and major international players. It’s an opportunity to present our new brand, to show that we are not a startup but part of a solid group with over 30 years of experience, while also demonstrating our capacity for innovation>>.
Is your target large enterprises or SMEs?
<<We see opportunities in both segments, but right now we’re working extensively with mid-sized companies — typically between 1,000 and 2,000 employees. These are organisations facing sustainability reporting obligations for the first time under the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive), the new European framework that replaces the previous Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD) and significantly expands the number of companies required to disclose their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance in a standardised and comparable way. Many of these companies don’t have the resources of a large corporation. That’s where Presgo truly makes a difference, by offering a reliable, easy-to-integrate solution tailored to their needs>>.

How important are digitalisation and artificial intelligence in your services?
<<For us, AI is not a slogan, it’s a practical tool that simplifies the work of sustainability managers. We use it to check data quality, automate complex calculations such as supply chain emissions, accelerate report drafting, and benchmark compliance across multiple frameworks (CSRD, GRI, ISSB). The goal is always the same: giving companies more time, more confidence, and better data through smoother, smarter processes>>.

From your point of view, what structural issues does Italy need to address?
<<The country is making rapid progress, although Northern Europe is still ahead. In Italy, there is a need for a stronger structure for ESG data collection and management to ensure quality and completeness. Only this way can sustainability truly become a competitive advantage for Italian companies, even on an international scale>>.
What kind of skills are you currently looking for in the labour market?
<<We are mainly looking for professionals who can combine technical expertise with a real sensitivity to sustainability. Our platforms are technological, based on AI and modular architecture, but they require professionals who can translate that innovation into tangible value for our clients. At Presgo we already have a strong team with transversal capabilities. Our ESG experts are ready to support clients across Europe with a dedicated team based in Italy. On the technology side, we have more than 30 years of software experience, and a large group of expert engineers constantly improving our platform in order to respond directly to client needs and regulatory evolution>>.
How do you communicate your sustainability mission to customers and local communities?
<<We prefer to let facts speak for us. Everything we share comes directly from our clients’ experiences: their success stories are the best proof of our impact. We also believe in engaging directly with the sustainability community. That’s why we actively participate in major in-person events, not only here in Italy at Ecomondo, but also at Spain’s ESG Summit and France’s Produrable. This is the context where we exchange insights and showcase real results together with our clients. We offer a reliable, easy-to-use platform that can adapt to evolving regulatory frameworks and does so at a fair price. In a market divided between large, complex, and expensive solutions on one side, and financially fragile startups on the other, we represent a balance: international solidity and technological innovation, combined with a concrete understanding of companies’ real needs>>.
If you had to summarise Presgo’s new identity in three words, which would you choose?
<<I’d say intelligent, intuitive and future-proof>>.
