Danilo Bonato
Born in Sorengo, Switzerland the 15 of November 1962, Danilo Bonato is an Italian manager an author.
Bonato attended Polytechnic of Milan, where he graduated in Engineering, and later he pursued a MBA at San Diego State University.
His career started in the US computer company Digital Equipment Corporation. He then moved to Fiat, where he managed the on line business and later on to Atos Origin Italy as Senior VP for Sales & Marketing. Before joining Remedia he was CEO of E-tree and Alchera, two Italian ICT consulting firms.
He entered the environmental sector in 2005, taking charge of Remedia’s start up, one of the major Italian nonprofit electronics producers’ collective organization and he strongly contributed to the development of the national e-waste management system.
He is member of the board of the Italian WEEE Clearing House, the Italian Batteries Clearing House and the Foundation for Sustainable Development. He’s also very active in the WEEE Forum, the European Association of the producers’ collective schemes active in e-waste management.
Danilo Bonato is a European trusted expert in the circular economy, resource efficiency and recycling field. He cooperates with the European Union for the raw materials and resource efficiency strategic initiatives. Bonato is member of the EIP (European Innovation partnership) High level Steering Group for Raw Materials, of ERECON (European Rare Earths Competence Network) and of the Horizon 2020 Advisory Group for Strategic Challenge 5 (Climate Change and Resource Efficiency).
Danilo Bonato is the author of many articles and publications. He published several books on green economy and sustainability (Eco Logo – the Italian industry helps or destroys the environment? - with contributions from Al Gore and Jeremy Rifkin, “In search of the Green Planet”, the “Third Crisis” among others). He teaches sustainability science at Polytechnic of Milan.
