Scientific Committee

Mauro Fontana is the President of the National Agrifood Cluster for the 2021-2023 period.
Graduated in Chemistry (Organic and Biological specialization) and qualified as a professional.
From 1971 to 2020 has developed his professional career in different technical areas of many Food & Beverages Companies, local and multinational, in charge of technical and  managerial roles, as Factory Director, Technical Director, Quality Assurance Director, Global Quality Director and Technical & Scientific R&D Director.
From 2007to 2020 was the Technical & Scientific R&D Director of the Soremartec Italia srl (the R&D Company of the Ferrero Group).
From 2015 to 2020 was the President and the CEO of the Soremartec Italia srl 
Member of the Board of the National Agrifood Cluster CL.A.N., since its foundation in 2013, and, previously, member of the Board of Food for Life Platform since 2007.
Member of the Board of the Nutrition Foundation of Italy (NFI) since 2012.
Member of the Board of the Italian Sustainable Palm Oil Union since 2015.
Member of many Academic Technical Scientific Committees: - Master in “Innovation in Food Science and Technology’’ since 2008; Master in “Quality, Food Safety, Sustainability and Innovation in the Milk Supply Chain’’ since 2010; - AGRINNOVA (Academic Competence Centre for Innovation in Agri-Environmental field) since 2010; - Piedmont Agrifood Technological Cluster, since 2009;.- Sc. Committes of various Scientific Degree courses; - Tech. Sc. Comm. in some Trade Associations.
Member of the past National representative team for the 16th Programme Committee of the FP7 Specific Programme "Cooperation", Theme 2: Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, and Biotechnology.
Referee of Scientific public/private funded Projects or Academic Researches Quality Evaluation.
Co-author of several scientific published papers on Food Analysis and Food Safety fields
