Serena Borgna

Head of Department for Institutional Activities - Agency For the Promotion of European Research (APRE)

Serena Borgna, joined APRE in early 2008 and now serves as Head of Department for Institutional Activities.

She has been appointed by MIUR as National Contact Point (NCP) for the themes “SC2 - Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry, Marine, Maritime and Inland Water Research and the Bioeconomy,” “ERC -European Research Council,” and “ NMBP - Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials, Advanced Manufacturing and Processing, and Biotechnology” for the HORIZON 2020 Research and Innovation Program, in continuation of the activities already carried out in the same areas under the 7th RTD Framework Program. He has a broad knowledge of the mechanisms underlying European research and innovation programs thanks also to 'many years of experience in project management.

She is now head of the Cluster 6 Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment thematic team.

Serena has to her credit numerous lectures and organization, moderation and participation in events on Horizon Europe and H2020, particularly on topics such as CL6, SC2, ERC and NMBP and European partnerships.
