  • with speeches and posters from the Call for Papers 2025

Waste prevention practices are at the top of the hierarchy suggested by the European Union, since they are aimed at avoiding a resource consumption and the necessity of treating complex matrices. These practices would proceed together with a management of end-of-life material resources as circular as possible, through the integration of different options, even leaded by digitalisation and artificial intelligence solutions. The assessment of environmental impacts must remain at the base of business and policy choices, by means of the selection of suitable sustainability indicators.

This seminar is devoted to the presentation of good practices and case studies of waste prevention, of by-products and discards management, and of the measurement of environmental performances in order to optimise recycling and recovery operations.
